How much does an animal behaviourist make at a zoo if they have a masters degree in zoology?

  1. Not that much, and getting the job will be extremely difficult.

    According to http://www.xavier.edu/biology/careers/ca... , you can expect 30-90K (notice the low job growth warning), but from my experience as a researcher working in zoos, the 40K range is what you'll most likely be making. Directors of zoos/animal programs will make more, but then you will almost certainly need to get a PhD and do some interesting research first.

    If you're interested is in getting paid more for doing similar work, I would recommend becoming an animal behavior consultant. (The only trouble then will be in finding a private organization that will hire you--ask directors or trainers at zoos you're interested in working with where and how they hire consultants).
