  1. Athlete with Olympic gold will get big money later from Ads and other events.  All depends on how famous they are. some get big $$$.  some not.

    and even the governing bodies of the various sports have their own rewards

    plus sponsors usually have their own rewards also

    the athletes do not get paid however they get the fame and most make money off of advertisements and comercials.

  10. HONOR!.........The endorsements come later depending how educated you are and if you have the right attitude for the public.

  11. You are NOT paid anything for winning a gold medal. Your country might give you some money, but Olympians usually make their money off endorsement deals.

  12. no money from the International Olympic Committee or from Beijing Olympic Organising Committee (that I'm aware of) but some countries do pay million dollar bonuses if their athletes win gold. Then there are also endorsements and deals with big brands/corporates etc

  13. the olympic committee does not pay cash prizes. some countries do to encourage athletes to push themselves harder but i don't believe statistics or dollar amounts have been released.  

  14. China: 1million yuan( around US 200K, a medium prize)

    USA:  30K US dollars( one of the lowest)

    Singapore: US 1 million(highest)

    (for gold medals)

  15. $25,000 to gold medal winners, $15,000 to those who take home a silver and $10,000 for a bronze.
