How much does an average Singaporean earn?

I have recently been admitted into NUS's LLM program. As for the job prospects after a year of study, it is said that law firms usually pay 3000 SGD per month for paralegals.

Since I will be an international student and employee in Singapore, I am wondering whether or not 3000 SGD is enough to live there.

How much does an average Singaporean earn? How much is the average living cost there, including the fees for renting a house of course.

Thanks.

  1. SGD3000 is good $$.  renting a house is out as the rent is now around 2000/3000.  renting a room wld cost around $800.  it has gone up.  so u have around $2000 left which will cover food that will cost $800 TO $1000.  if u eat at hawker centres and not fancy restaurants,  u can save some $$.  u hv to be frugal and splurge once a while not every weekend.

NUS have rooms for rent.  thats reasonable.  later find a room near your office so u save transport. most law firms are in city centre hence rents r not low.

u hv to pay sometimes 2mths deposit to rent a room.

the average sgporean earns $2000 and make do with whatever they can get.

all in all, its not expensive and u will be surprise that u can save.  if u r not shy / embarass, u can ride a bicycle and save more $$ on train / bus rides.  u can carry spare clothes as its hot here.

    goodluck
