I want the costs you spend weekly for diapers formula and all that good stuff.

what about after you actually HAVE the child? Does it cost a bunch there? Like Birth certificates?

Not looking to have a baby or anything like that. I'm just curious.

  3. MY MOM IS CHEAP!!!

  4. Birth certificates depend on the state and sometimes the county.  In Nevada, the birth certificate is about $75.  It covers the cost of clinics for children with metabolic disorders.

I always bought my diapers and formula from Sam's Club.  A big can of formula was about $25 and the diapers were about $30.  The formula lasted about 10 days and the diapers about two weeks.  After about three months, then baby food was added.  There was also clothes, which the baby out grew about every 2 months.  Daycare was $180 a week (for one).  Let's see, what else. . .oh, doctor visits.  We had $10 copays, but then when she had shots, there were additional copays on them.  Medicine, b/c she had a few ear infections.  My son had additional doctor visits, b/c he was premature and also needed ear tubes.  Of course there was also the cost of the crib ($499) dresser and changing table ($699).

In a nutshell, babies cost a lot of money.

  5. A copy of the birthcertificate is $20.  Diapers in the beginning I spent about $25 a week then that worked down to $12 a week at about 12 months old.  Wipes are $10 a month.  Formula was $20 a week.  At 6 months old when you start getting baby food that is about $50 a month sometimes more depending on the appitite and if the cost of the food went up (it always seems to rise anymore).  Then you have Dr visits with co-pays Which are around $20 a visit or more depending on insurance.  That doesn't include the actual hospital bill that can be like $10,000 or more.

  6. When your child gets in school it's even more expensive. You have to buy specific supplies and if your child eats lunch at school, that's about 2 dollars a day. I pack my kid's lunch and snack and you get a list of foods you can send and that gets expensive. For my son in kindergarten we probably spent about 300 buying supplies and back to school clothes and shoes. In the fall I purchased about 150 more worth of clothing to get him through the colder months. They are also lots of activities they do at school that require money.  We are expecting another and I am already buying stuff so we can get stocked up.

  7. Birth certificate is about 15 dollars.  Diapers can go up to 40 dollars a month depending on the brand you buy, plus wipes which is another 5 dollars.  Formula is 4 dollars a can, baby drinks a can or more a day.  Then when they eat baby food it adds on to the grocery costs.  They eat about three jars a days plus formula.. and juice.. children are expensive.. be prepared if when you plan on having one.
