  1. Try this website they have every thing u need cars,Mow,steam, passenger http://www.ozarkmountainrailcar.comgo to the new page.

  2. If it's DC traction, your looking at a little under 2 million for a new locomotive. If it's AC traction, it's around 2.5 million or so. That's for 4000-4400 HP. GE is slightly cheaper than EMD. You could get a older used 3000 HP engine probably for around 400-500k.

  3. You need not to pay for locomotive, just get a ticket to your destination. Why are you putting in for engine.

  4. Railroads buy equipment from the manufacturer with prices set by quantity, class 1 railroads do not buy one power unit at a time but several. If you check out a railroads website, look under news heading. You should see something about what orders they have placed and the cost of that order, or order or view on line their annual report to stockholders on any purchases they may have made. For yourself, buy used through an equipment broker.

  5. You wouldn't get much change from £1m (that's about $2m).

  6. They cost between 1.8 and 2.5 million dollars the last time i heard a price named. They could be more now as that was a while back.

  7. I tried to look at the GE Rail website, and unless you are registed it would not give you prices of the locomotives.  I would assume it would cost a few hundred thousand if not few millions of dollars.

This is not something you buy everyday.  I happen to know a Railroad engineer and it takes a lot of maintaince to keep one going.
