How much does an editor get paid?

I'm 15 and when I get older I want to become an editor. I want edit non-fiction, and fiction books. I love reading and this would be the best career for me, but I was wondering what risk I'd be taking and how much I'd be getting paid, because as you know it's very hard to survive minimum wage in America and I don't want that after busting my butt to succeed in school. lol

  1. It varies a LOT depending on where you live and who you work for.  My editor at work makes between 70-80k per year, has a masters degree and is still young.
