Does anyone know how much an immigration lawyer charges? (I know it probably varies, I just want to have an idea) I was going to try to fill out the paperwork for my greencard myself, but it seems to be more complicated than I thought it would be.

  1. Don't know, but go here for some info.

    American Immigration Lawyers Association

  2. It depends on the complexity of the application.

I know that you can expect to pay $1000+ for a simple green card application, provided no special circumstances apply to you that cause your case to be more complicated than usual.

Honestly, unless you're not good at filling out forms, applying for a green card is very easy if you have nothing special about your situation.

Simply make sure to read the instructions very, very carefully: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485ins...

Someone here could probably assist with your green card paperwork if you were to post some details, such as how you entered the US, if you're in the US legally, on what basis you are applying for a green card, etc.

Take a look at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.... for a guide on that paperwork, although you should keep in mind it's focused toward people who are on specific types of visas (K-1/K-3).

Use the forums on that same site (visajourney.com) for specific questions/help, or ask here.

  3. If you think that's complicated, just don"t apply for a job

  4. For the initial consult alone a good one in Phoenix would be about 350.00.

  5. around $3000.00 to $5000.00. anything with immigration is always complicated. going through a big case right now with my boyfriend!  we have already paid $5000.00!! thats not including application fees or photos. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! you will need it.

  6. alot!
