My 04 3 cost $90 at the dealership. However, they ran a complete check of the car, replaced the fluids and filters, replaced a burnt out bulb and 3 others that were replaced 3 years ago so they were "due", and flushed and filled the brake fluid, a free recommended maintenance that any other mechanic would not have done. well worth the money too. I always get to drive a nice loaner and my car is always washed, waxed, and vacuumed when I get it back!

I can tell you one it will be cheaper if you just take the time to do so yourself.  A oil filter at autozone for either series is about 12.00, same price as any american car oil filter.  If you take it to anywere, from jiffy lube to wal-mart to a ma and pa place they will give you some bull sh*t that the oil filter is special and try to charge you more.  I have two 7 series and a 3 series and they try to do so when I take it in untill I tell them the facts that I know.  If you use synthetic oil which on the older models is a great thing to do it might cost like 5.00 more.  So in the end expect to pay from 24.99 at wal-mart to 50.00 at the dealer ship.  If you do Wal-Mart make sure you go in with the attitude that you know its only about 12.00 for a filter.  You can go to autozone.com and even look that up.  Dont get riped off bud!

it depends on the shop where you take it. Some places charge anywhere from 15-25 dollars. But it can be more if your care uses synthetic oil. Look for specials in the newspaper.

Many shops won't do "just" an oil change.  They will do an oil service and check you car over.

Stay away from the cheap places.  They have to make money somewhere.  They will find "extra work."  Or cheap mechanic (stripped drain plug at  oil pan).
