How much does glass cost?

I am looking to replace pieces of glass in my house windows. They are some small square pieces. Also I might need to get 2 pieces of glass on my french doors which are about as large as the door.

Plain clear glass is very cheap, and is sold by the pound. Check prices at glassworkbench.com Small panes will only cost a couple of dollars each.

You will have to custom order the larger pieces, so check with a local glass company. Shipping would be too expensive to make it worth your while.

Colored glass can be very expensive because of the elements in the glass that give it color, such as gold, which makes glass turn red.
