How much does gov't. take from game show winnings?

I've been watching Price is Right Primetime, and of late there have been a few Million $ winners. How much will the winner actually take home after the gov't. takes there cut?

Same with Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Deal or No Deal. Whatever monies are won, what is the percentage the gov't. will take?

  1. About 30 percent.


  2. with any supplemental monies, bonuses, lottery, gambling winnings it 40%.  Sucks....I know!

  3. If the gameshow is in Canada, they take NOTHING. Haha Americans.

  4. they take the taxes so just found out the persentage of taxes where you live and take that much out of your winnings
