I work in a small office and the temp stays at 26.6 c (78-80 f) and the humidity stays between 40%-50% making the office feel like its 90. So much does humidity add to the temp??

  1. zero.

It makes you feel warmer because the moisture on your skin doesn't evaporate as quickly, and thus there is less cooling effect.

ACs have gotten very cheap, less than $200. Buy one and tell your boss he can pay you later.

  2. 26.6 degC is far too hot for an office-type work place. There are standards for environmental working conditions and your employer must maintain the temperature within the range.

  3. Technically, none.  Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air, while temperature is the measure of the amount of energy.  They are two different things.  The trick is that higher humidity reduces the amount of evaporation, which is a cooling process. Higher humidity makes it harder to cool off, thus it FEELS warmer.  The combination of these two factors is what is known as the heat index.

  4. Well, really none. It just seems like it just added like 300 more degrees sometimes, but it's really just water vapor! Sometimes, I think, it can add temp, MAYBE, it humidity is super duper high. Other than that, I think none!
