How much does it cost, in your area, to have your pets boarded?

I would like to house/pet sit & I am thinking that people who don't want to to take their pets to the kennel would pay to have people pet sit? I have a housesitting site but it is for people who just want to live in people's houses. I would like to make enough money to atleast pay my bills doing this. If you have any ideas I appreciate hearing what you have to say about this subject.

  2. I have paid $18/day to board my cat at a vetrinarian's. The cat was kept in a small cage with food and water and was let out once a day to run around and get exercise. If there was a person available who would petsit my cat  would have chosen that petsitting person over a vetrinarian. $18/day is quite a bit of money for a lot of people. The people who really need this service are tenants trying to find a new pet-friendly apartment, and people who are going on vaction.

If you want to start a petsiting business you may want to check out these websites:

  3. I live in a rural area so not sure. When we had to leave my DIL came and took care of our dog and cat. Gee sorry i have no idea.Well it depends on how long they will be away. Wish you luck on this but seems like you  can name your own price.

  4. Hi Lynne,

I just came back from vacation and I paid my sister to pet/house sit...so I got a really great deal.

I didn't call myself, but I heard that, boarding your pets at a kennel can be expensive.

If I was you I would simply call around to different kennels and ask what they charge and what is included for that charge.

Then you can know how and what to advertise at a competitive rate.

I absolutely Love my animal companions and I know that I am not alone.

If you are willing to offer more of an intimate touch that kennels don't offer, I'll even look you up the next time I'm leaving town.

That is the major concern to most animal owners. They feel guilty of leaving their pets with someone whose is not going to offer Love as well as care.

I hope this helps in some way.

    Peace!
