  1. alot lol never had one but ok room 300 to 500 for boarding hay and oat and food 150 mabe vet 800 easy shots papers lol get a gerbil

  2. vet is needed a min. or 2 times a year. If you know how to adminster shots the cost is reduced

    Vet does everything:$250-$350 per year

You do shots, vet for coggins:$175-250

Farrier is needed every 6-8 weeks, do not do this yourself unless trained. trimmed or shoed

    Trim:$20-$40 per trim

shoes:$100-200 per shoeing (all 4 hoofs)

    yearly trim:$175-260

    yearly shoes:$520-1100

board can vary. there is 3 major boarding types.

    pasture monthly: $100-200 per month

    pasture yearly:$1200-2400

    Partial/rough monthly:$250-400

    Partial/rough yearly: $3000-4800

    Full board monthly: $450-1200 month

    full board yearly:$5400-14,400

Feed is, a good feed, around $10-14 per bag. an easy keeper eats less than half or required grain. a 13.1 hand horse will most like need 4 lbs (easy keeper) split into 2-4 meals a day. and a 50 bag should last around 2 and a half weeks. making 100 lbs required.

    monthly feed:$20-28

    yearly:$240-336

(note most full boarders do not pay food for the horse. however with rising grain prices this number will flux depending on your region)

    first aid kit:

$20 a year, replace supplies yearly or when expired. wich ever is sooner

vet supplies and preventitive care: $40 (blue coat, swat, vet wrap, iodine bath, etc.)

Fly sprays: $20-$40 a month (depending on brand)

    yearly fly spray costs: $240-480

coats and rugs can vary and a good quality one will last years so shop around.

    supplements are choice

Saddle that fits the horse's back is a must, improper fit will make him lame. A proper fitting saddle can cost from $200-$3000. a good price and quailty saddle is around $400 though. leather lasts the longest and is the best looking. It can always be repaired and is professional looking for shows

misc. expenses can add up, shows, trailering, injuries, bits, grooming equimtent, etc. so i didn't include this as the price varies greatly

    good luck w/ your horse

  3. It's not cheap. I can't give you an exact number because a horse's needs can change every month.

Board: varies in price at every single barn you look at, very few have the same exact board along with extra specials you get with the board. Boarding prices can vary from $200-600 a month, it all depends on the quality of the stalls at the barn, the turn out time the horse gets, if the horse is supplied with food

Food: Hay can be around anywhere to 4$ a bail last i knew, it could be cheaper if could be more expensive. A horse should get 2 flakes of hay in the morning and 2 at night, unless they are turned out on grass 24/7 then they don't need the hay. Certain horses require to have grain. That's expensive as well. Some horses need supplements in their diet.

Vet: There should be a check up on your horse, i would say every year maybe? I do not know for sure. Most people know when their horse needs to be checked out by a vet. Some illnesses a horse can get can be very expensive to fix, like colic.

Farrier: Should be done every time you see your horse with a chip in his or her hoof. When the hoof is to long, or when a shoe falls off if the horse wears shoes. That is not very expensive. It all depends on what is being done

Teeth (which you forgot): You can't neglect a horses teeth being done, it helps in response with the bit. A sore tooth can cause a horse extra pain when being ridden with a strong bit, which can cause the horse to move a certain way to relieve the pain. It is about 300$ to have that done, that is how much it was to have my horse's teeth done.

Tack: Tack is very expensive if you want something that will last. A nice bridle will cost you anywhere around 100$-300$ for western or english. English saddles can be on sale for about 900$, used would be less but new fancy english saddles are over 1000$. A nice western saddle will also go over the 1000$ mark, and could go into 2000-3000$

Saddle pad's can be 50$ ++ depending on the quality, girth's shouldnt be to expensive or come with the saddle. It all depends on what the quality is and what your horse needs

Other expenses can include: Brushes, Show sheen (untangles tails and manes) ******Fly Spray******** very important in summer!!****.. Hoof Pick , Bits, Wraps, Crops, Martingales, Breast Plate, Spurs... the list goes on and on... and when you add it all up you can spend 100's of dollars...

A rough guess of how much you could spend on a horse a year at a minimum of $5,000...i cant say this is right, but it is my rough guess with grass turn out 24/7, cheap board, and not a lot of expenses or medical expenses... its almost impossible to get an exact number
