How much does it cost for a Saxophone?

Hi everyone, basically I've just started Saxophone lessons and I need to buy a saxophone. Just to let you know, the Saxophone which I need is an Alto Saxophone.

They can get extremely expensive. Check the local music store for used name brands like Selmer, Yamaha, Jupiter, or Keilweirth (sp?). They should be a couple hundred cheaper and have very good quality. Price range from $500 to a ton of money. Don't go for the cheapest one though, they might end up costing more in repairs. Usually music stores have a rental or payment plan too, to make it easier for you to pay for the sax that you want.
