McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Subway, Wendy's, Quiznos, etc.

I've heard it was expensive to actually dig up the nutritional facts, but does anyone know roughly how much? I'm doing my research report on this and it'd be a lot of help if I knew. Thank you!

  1. chain restaurants are required by law to have a nutrition guide in their store.  I think thats all restaurants with 16 or more locations.  So for those restaurants it wouldnt be expensive because they already know, and even if they didnt, it takes five minutes to look at a recipe and total the calorie content.  the money it would cost them would come from the consumers eating out less when they realise that the average meal in a restaurant has 1500 calories.

  2. i don't think much! and they would already know the nutritional facts before putting the food on the menu. they just don't let it out because they don't wanna lose their customers.... :-)

**yes, that's right, they are very very unhealthy**

  3. It depends on what you mean by "cost."

There is the cost of writing up the information and publishing it.

Then there is the cost of potentially lost business as a result of consumers knowing what they have been eating.

I would suspect that the last profit cost would be greater than the effort of publishing the information.

  4. $1

  5. omg my sister had to get a list of nutrition facts from a fast food restaurant once! it was for a school project in health class! it didnt matter where from, so she went to mcdonalds, asked for one, and they asked her how many, and she got a few just in case, and it was totally free!!
