  1. generally, you buy an advertising package with the radio station.  they will have set fees for live promotional "remotes" that will run into the thousands of dollars - depends on market and ratings of the station.  what you can do is find the station that plays the songs your club plays, or that gets the kind of listeners you wish to have - and then find which one has the lowest ratings... and then you might be able to get a good rate.  there is another possibility, you can also tap into the club dj market.  and sometimes these people will have ties to a radio station.  another idea is to get really nice "free admission" tickets printed up and send them to everyone who works at the station.  just an idea.  may or may not work. but this is just for word of mouth. they won't talk about it on air unless something is totally cool.  nad most wont say anything due to the advertising dept rules.  generally, if your club is happening, it will all work out.  if you're not happening, then you have to spend a lot of money to make people think it's happening.

  2. In NY, Big bux - if they'll do it at all. Out on the island less. In a smaller market like New Haven much less and they'd be thrilled.

It's usually tied in to a spot schedule (advertising contract) and talent fee for the jock and his helpers.

  3. Check into a college radio station, if you have one that's popular. The fee is actually a donation and you can write it off.
