  1. Look behind your cooker, if it has a black rubber hose attached to the back of the cooker then it will be a simple matter just to unplug it from the pipework,.

just the same as taking out a light bulb, IE. push down the brass fitting and quarter turn, then pull out, no need to cap the pipe as the Bayonet type fitting is self sealing.

And no you DO NOT have to be CORGI reg. to do this, only stand alone gas hobs are required to be hard piped for safety above a built in oven.

Gas cookers are connected this way to assist the home owner to remove the cooker from it's space for the purpose of cleaning and decorating.

  2. Here in Texas that would be covered under a service call.  Depending on it being a normal work day, and not an emergency call, a normal service call could run from $75- $150. Good luck!

  3. It's a one hour job absolute maimum so one hours labour. In my area it is £47

  4. Here in north u.k. I would expect to pay 20 to 25 pounds.  The job should only take about 30 minutes but the plumber would probably spin it out for 1 hour.  He/she should be c.o.r.g.i. registered and I would suggest you get 3 quotes.  It's a simple job and you are paying for the tradesman's expertise and experience.  Don't get the cowboys in or try to do it yourself.
