How much does it cost in fuel to drive 160 miles in a ford mondeo? Birmingam to Milton Keynes

Please could anyone give me an idea of the cost in fuel of a return journey from birmingham to milton keynes? The train is £350 for a month.

My last 1.8 petrol Mondeo was very economical it's only redeeming feature) and would easily average 40mpg on a run: This would use 4 gallons over 160 miles, which is 18.16 litres. At £1.15 per litre, this would make the cost of the journey just under £21 in fuel.

Reckon you looking at £25 per trip for that, if your on motorway, and driving steady.Depends what size if mondeo, and if its petrol or diesel.

It would be cheaper by train unless you find other passengers to share the costs then it would be cheaper
