A lot of people just told me to get the cheap ones from the flea market, beauty supply store, and etc., but i dont think that is safe for my eyes because my eyes have a unique curve , so therefore i doubt if the contact from those places would fit my eye. So will i also need an eye exam plus the fitting and what is the price rage?

  1. theres acuvue. its not that pricey.

  2. It's NEVER safe to wear contacts without a prescription, even if you have very 'normal' eyes.

That said, it depends on where you go. At an ophthalmologist's office, usually between 85-125 dollars. Some people who go to discount eye care places can get it done for about 65$

Contacts themselves depend on the brand you're buying. If you're using vial lenses (the kind you can't throw out) about 200$ a year. Acuvue 2 colours cost 239 a year from 1800 contacts. Focus 1-2 week softcolours cost 199 a year. On the other hand, daily disposables are pretty expensive. They're 169 for a TWO MONTH supply.

  3. You are exactly right; it's not a smart idea to just go buy contacts without knowing your sizing. Many people do try to do that though, and it ends up causing them problems later on. Your eye doctor will probably want to give you an eye exam plus the fitting, especially if it has been more than a year since your last visit. He/she will want to verify whether or not you need vision correction before doing the fitting. You can get colored contacts either way also, with or without correction in them.

I wear colored contacts for color enhancement only- I don't need vision correction either, yet. I went to a Wal-Mart Vision Center for my exam and fitting, and it only cost me $91. That was my price without vision insurance. The $91 included my exam/fitting, one trial pair of colored contacts, a starter kit with solution and case, and a copy of my prescription so that I can get my contacts from anywhere online or at any eye doctor's office. I also got to try out as many colors as I wanted to while I was there, and that really helped me get a good idea of what colors worked best for me.

I was extremely happy with the service I received at the Wal-Mart Vision Center, and thought the price was great. The eye doctor I used to go to wanted right at $200 for the exact same procedure. I don't think I'll be going back to see him! The eye doctors in the Wal-Mart Vision Centers are just as well trained as any other eye doctor...but they are able to offer lower prices due to the fact that they are renting their spot within Wal-Mart, rather than paying the high overhead of owning their own building and all the costs that go along with that.

I usually order my Freshlook Dimensions from 1800contacts.com or visiondirect.com. Both have great prices and fast shipping!

Freshlook colored contacts and Acuvue 2 Colours are among the more afforable brands in colored contacts. They are $30ish per box of 6 lenses on 1800contacts.com. You can get a few dollars off each box by ordering 4 or 8 boxes at a time, and you can also sometimes get mail-in rebates when you order that many boxes too. Each pair is designed to be worn for 2 weeks then disposed of with the Freshlook and Acuvue 2 Colours. Freshlook also makes a few colors in daily disposables. The prices go on up from the $30s into the $100s, depending on brand, and how long they can be worn for before disposing of.

  4. the price range are usually the same though.  It doesnt matter the strength or weakness of your eye.  The lens come in different strength so if yours is (plano meaning non-prescription or 20/20 vision) the price are usually the same.  And if u want to buy contacts, find out your eye measurements first.  Go to the optician.  Good luck
