  1. That depends on what size light bulb you have .. 25 watt ,60 watt 100 watt   it varies greatly also the new light bulbs(florescent, recommended) takes  only about one fourth the energy for a comparable watt light bulb so it all depends on what kind and what type you choose

  2. Very simple.

Depends on your electric rate and lamp wattage, but for formula is this:

    100 Watts X 24 hours / 1,000 KWH X elec rate .08 = .192 per day.

If you are trying to decide on weather to buy fluorescent vs regular consider this:

Example:  100 Watt lamp costs .50 and is rated for 1000 hours.

    100 Watts X 1,000 Hours = 100,000 Watts / 1,000 = 100 KWH

    100 Killowatt Hours X Electric rate .08 = 8.00 + .50 cost of lamp

Total cost to run that light bulb (on average rated life) is $8.50

That's why the new fluorescent lamps are so cost effective.  Do the math.

    18 Watts (100 equivelent) X 10,000 Hours = 180,000 W / 1,000 = 180KWH X .08 = 14.40 + 6.00 cost of lamp = $20.40 Total.  Sounds higher but the lamp lasts 10 times longer.  So 20.40 / 10 = $2.04 each

It's a little bit more upfront but easily pays for itself in the long run.

  3. It really depends on the type light bulb wattage and what you get charged for your electricity bill per KW hour.

  4. Take the wattage of the bulb, divide by 1000 to get kilowatts, multiply by 24 to get the kilowatt-hours.  Then multiply that by your local rate (get that from your power company) and add taxes, and you have your number.  Good luck.
