I live in Queensland, Australia and am thinking about adopting a child. How would one go about adopting a child? and how much does it usually cost these days??

    Costs - you would have to contact them.

    All adoptions in Australia are state controlled.

    There are now very very few Australian born adoptions carried out - as women are encouraged to parent - rather than relinquishing their children.

    There are some overseas adoptions - but they are strictly controlled also - ensuing all adoptions are ethical - if at all possible.

    Fewer than 500 adoptions are finalised each year in Australia.

    Perhaps also check into Foster care in your state - as sometimes children are available through adoption there - and these are the kids that really need loving homes.
