  1. I would say about £3k all-in  for labour & materials (commons)

  2. A 6ft wall will have about 18inches below ground. Footings need to be dug and cement mixed for the base. Charge would be about £120 per day per man. Your wall would take about 5 days in stone and a little more in brick. This includes digging out the footings. Once the footings have been poured there is a 16 hour drying out time which is dead time. Budget about £800 plus the materials.

  3. I reckon about £2,000 to £2,500.  But much depends on what you want the wall made out of .  You could use breeze blocks - either as a single skin (vertical) or a double skin (horizontal) - double is thicker but more expensive as you will be using more bricks.  If you use red brick that could be more again.  both sides of the wall would need to be rendered and you also need to allow for foundations.  Then, there are the additions like - will you be having coping stones to finish it off and of course, painting the wall itself.

  4. A professional should be able to do this in one day - labour (depending on where you are) between £150 & £500 per day.

The stones or bricks would be extra and cost differently depending on what you buy!

I would question anyone charging less than £300 for the labour on a job like that to be honest.

  5. Built of brick you will need about 1300 bricks that includes 10% for waste. The wall at that height will need to be at least one brick thick (that's 8.5 to 9inches thick If it were me I would put an attached pier at each end and in the middle this will great greatly increase it structural stability. The finish to the top of a wall like this is very important, it needs have a  least a brick over sailing course and topped with a brick on edged.

You will need a foundation, that is excavate to a depth of at least 33 inches (you will need this to be blow the frost line) 24 inches wide and 6 inches deep.

In terms of time excavation and concrete done by hand will take at least a day for two men The brick work will also take two days for two men. In terms of the cost of labour this will vary around the country but I would say on average something in the order of 1400 pounds

  6. 361-945-7625 Depends where you are. We sell rock, stone and Flagstone in Texas (Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Rio Grand) area. We have chopped rock by the ton. A tone covers about 45-60 square feet. That is a ton for anywhere between $120 and $200. I would say you need 10-12 tons.
