  3. It depends on the size of the ship and when it was built.  

    The most recent Carnival ship to enter service is the 110,000 gross ton (GT) Carnival Freedom which cost $500,000,000 in 2007

    The next Carnival ship that will enter service is the Carnival Splendor, which will begin sailing later this year.  It is 113,000 GT and will cost about 475,000,000 Euros (about $697,000,000)

    The 86,000 GT Carnival Miracle cost $375,000,000 in 2004.  

    The 101,500 GT Carnival Victory cost $410,000,000 in 2000.

    Carnival owns Cunard.  The 70,000 GT Queen Elizabeth 2 cost 29 million pounds in 1969 (that is about $56,630,000 - the QE2 was recently sold for $100,000,000).  

    The 148,500 GT Queen Mary 2 cost $800,000,000 in 2004.

    The 90,000 GT Queen Victoria cost $390,000,000 in 2007.

    Royal Caribbean's 158,000 GT Liberty of the Seas cost $590,000,000 in 2007.

    The 90,000 GT Jewel of the Seas cost $350,000,000 in 2004.
