How much does it cost to build a rammed earth home?

I know there is alot to consider but any guestimate and type of

rammed earth or adobe home you have built would be helpful. I'm going to do most the work myself with the help of family. The utilities available are electric, water, cable and a septic tank.

Excellent question in the light of present conditons.  Imagine a rammed earth, grey water plumbing, solar powered property with a local windmill.  Now we are really talking about the type of house Al Gore should be dwelling to support his Inconvenient Truth.  I don't know myself, but here are some links I found that may help you.

Go to MotherEarthNews.com  and on that site search "Rammed Earth Home".  I just did it and got 37 hits. -- some of the articles I recall from my Mother Earth phase.  While I have never built a rammed earth home, I have built a number of the projects designed by the Mother Earth News people and have found them to be well-researched with sound engineering.
