  1. Well, parakeets are around $19.99.

  2. As the other answers already state, a "bird" can cost anywhere from $5 to $25,000 to purchase. You can get budgies (parakeets) for free from most animal rescue organizations.

But that's JUST the price of the bird itself. It doesn't account for how much it costs to take care of the bird for the rest of its life.  Some birds can live to be 80 years old!

Take a look at this article for an idea how much "a small bird" costs: http://bestinflock.wordpress.com/2008/06...

    and this:

You need to do a LOT of research before even considering buying a bird. Why do you want a bird? What are you looking for in a pet? How much time do you have to devote to a bird on a daily basis? For the rest of your life? Do you have the resources to buy everything a healthy bird needs, including emergency vet care?

  3. Why do you think all birds cost the same amount?  It's like asking how much it costs to buy a mammal!  If you don't even know about specific species, then you obviously shouldn't get any kind of bird anyway.

You have to know what exact species you want.  You can't even just buy "some little bird" because even they have different prices!

  4. You could try being a more specific. There are thousands among thousands of species of bird out there, numb nuts.

  5. A Budgie cost about $15.00 and a Hyacinth Macaw costs about $10,000

  6. Depends on the bird:

Zebra finches are around 15 dollars

    budgies are about the same

    cockatiels are about a hundred,

and larger parrots usually go well over that.

chickens and ducks are about 3-5 dollars

    these are petstore prices,

If you want a bird I recomend checking your local animal shelters first. You'll give an animal a home that needs one.

Please pick a species. If you are a first time person with birds, I would reccomend either Zebra finches or Budgies, they are easy. Don't get barnyard birds unless its legal where you live.

REASEARCH what type you pick - alot!! know your bird in and out.

  7. How wide is the ocean? How long is the road? What kind of bird? There are thousands of species of birds. What are you interested in. Do you expect someone to list every bird?

  8. well you could get a finch for $5
