  7. Can't do it.  Ownership is divided up among too many, some of which either would refuse to sell or do not have clear title to transfer.  Besides, if you succeeded in buying Earth, where would you relocate its occupants?

    In looking over some of the other answers, there seems to be some confusion as to whether you want to purchase the Earth or just buy a little dirt.  Capitalization can be significant.

  16. To buy the land would cost about $100 an acre on average. The water, depending on location, would cost between $.50 and $.75 a gallon. Then there are the natural resources. Hard to really estimate those in short because oil is valued differently than a cow.

  21. Unless you live in an urban area, earth (or dirt) is generally free. It is very unlikely someone will charge you for removing a bit of dirt from their property (unless you're taking truckloads away). Some people will even pay you to take away their earth.

    In the city, it's usually $1 - $2 for a 30 litre bag of earth.
