How much does it cost to change the LMB and run an extra cable from a sattelite dish.?

Moved into a new house with a sattelite dish installed. I have sky plus and need a new LMB and an extra cable from the dish. The sky guy quoted 50 quid for the work, how much does it cost third party?

  1. You can get an LNB on ebay for as little as £10 and the cable costs even less. Make sure you use a good qaulity cable like CT100, thats what sky use. The reason he has qouted £50 is because he has over heads and most peolpe won't climb a ladder.


  2. You can certainly do it yourself via ebay as the other suggests, but if you pay a satellite/aerial installer to come round and supply and install the cable (it's WF100 now, CT100 isn't benchmarked) you are looking at £50-00 to £70-00 to do it properly and have a guarantee at the end of it.
