  1. great question I have been thinking of this my self

  2. these panels are for daylight not sunlight

    a common misconception

i have just had one installed, and they are not cheap, i am in the uk so not much point in telling you the cost for here

look into it long and hard, and make sure you get the correct system for your home, think of future consumption, ie will you have a home full of teen agers in the future, or are you children grown already and about to leave? lifestyle is a big consideration

  3. Depends on how much power you need.  The cost of a solar/wind installation including the charge controller and battery bank generally runs about $10 per watt.  If you are in a remote location that can be cheaper than getting hooked up to the grid but in urban areas it isn't really viable, which is why most solar/wind systems are installed at cottages or hunting cabins.

  4. Something missing from all this is transportation costs.  Where I live, Midwest USA, it costs about 50k dollars U.S., but it SHOULD be quite a bit less than that.  Where you live is better for it, and you may or may not be close to a dealer/manufacturer.  It is also labor intensive to start, and that costs more here than there.  I'd love to go wind turbine here, because we have LOTS of it, but laws prohibiting "out structures".

    Good luck and blessings!
