My last name is misspelled on my birth certificate. Im wondering how much would it cost to have it corrected. I fear this might be a problem for my petition if I dont fix that.

  1. The real fee is probably less than 200 pesos, but if you go that route it may take years and years.

  2. one pot of dinuguan and a bucket of tuyo

  3. 1,300 for Correction on clerical error. If your birth certificate requires change of name the fee is 3,300 pesos. Go to the place of the civil registrar where you were born.

  4. You will indeed have a problem if you dont have it changed.

It is quite tedious and may need to require some time. But this year, NSO made the correction procedure faster. Go to the NSO Office in QC or the closest to your location. Bring the following:

    1. Certificate of one and the same person, you can acquire this in any law office, I think even at Notary Public place

    2. Birth certificates of your parents, and siblings (if applicable)

    3. School documents with your name on it

    4. COE if applicable

    5. any other documents (government issued or not) with your name on it

I'm not quite sure how much now, but last year it was around 5k PHP. You may need to coordinate with a newspaper company so you can have your name announced there with the correct spelling.

    Hope this helps.
