  1. How far do you want to go? Start at a couple of thousand, after that, sky's the limit.

E.T.A.  I've seen lots of tricked out Focus's. They look as good as any of those other vehicles and you already own one. Lots of aftermarket stuff available for them.

  2. I agree with kingsand, but many cars are limited on what you can customize. I can't find many parts for my older model acura. I would go with the civic since you can find parts for this car anywhere.

  3. well here the thing. if you have money go wit the supra. supra parts are expensive. corolla sux, and i would either go with the accord or tiburon. tiburon is pretty fast one outta that (except for the supra) but gotta get the 6 speed v6.

  4. body kits are such a waste of money.

  5. What you REALLY should do is NOT by a rice burner and go for some good old American muscle. Trust me, the whole "fast and furious" phenomenon is gone. In it's wake are a bunch of little kids (teenagers, no offense) and 20 something guys that have anger issues.

But if you must by one then you will need at least $2000 to start and that is not including the price of the car. Most of the upgrades are expensive and can only be done if you have the proper tools and knowledge (and that doesn't mean a magazine and a socket wrench). A lot of the cosmetic parts for these cars are interchangeable but require some cutting down to make the appropriate fit.

When it comes to the engine you are on your own. The money that people dump into these d**n cars is amazing. I will tell you one thing: Don't put a loud, aftermarket exhaust on your car and then think it's fast. That is nothing buy annoying and it might actually get your car vandalized (I have seen people destroy a car for this exact reason!).

    Good luck!

After reading your question further (I must have missed it the first time) I retract my earlier number and give you a figure of $3000 and up. The paint job alone, no matter what style of car, will cost you at least $1000 if you want it to be done by a PRO that knows what they are doing. A decent sound system with the ins and outs of todays technology will run you about another $1000. That is based on the idea that you will replace the head unit, all speakers and install a sub with amp. Then you will need to tack on the price of the body kit which can range anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand depending on what you want to do.
