how much does it cost to fix the thing on a computer where you put the disks and cd's. i need an estimate i broke the thing where you put disks in on my families computer and im going to have to pay half so i was wondering what it would cost? srry about the category it offered it so i put it there

30-100$ for the CD or dvd writer.You can get one at wal-mart and put it in yourself.Just take the computer unplug it take the outer case off take the screws out that holds it in unplug the wires then plug the new one up,put the rest back together and turn it on.You may have to download the software that comes with it also.
