  1. Anything around £600 for a return and you have got a good deal. If you are willing to pay a bit extra for a nice seat then it will cost more but you will have a much more pleasant experience.

  2. The nearest international airport to Kyoto is Kansai International (KIX) in Osaka Bay. Kyoto is about an hour away on the train. Narita is too far away.

The only direct London-KIX flight is with Japan Airlines. It can be expensive, but they often have great deals. Unfortunately they are looking to withdraw this route to save money, probably by next year.

You can go via Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt in Europe (which is easier) or via Korea and Singapore. You will see cheap flights via China, Dubai or Turkey, but I wouldn't recommend these (dreadful-bad flights and crappy transfers).

The cost depends on when you want to go (Autumn and Spring is most expensive, as are New Year, Golden week and Obon) and which airline happens to be doing a deal when you book. Start looking now on the net and compare, compare. compare.

Japan is beautiful, particularly the Kansai area (Kyoto, Kobe, Nara, Osaka, Himeji).

  3. i bought a ticket thru ANA's website for my 2 week trip to japan

from august 22 to sept 9 it was a little over $1200

  4. From the UK, it would almost certainly be cheaper to fly to Tokyo, and then go by public transport to Kyoto, which would take no more than 4 hours. Obviously, it depends what time of year you're looking at going, at minimum, the lowest price you'll get is about £500, however, a more realistic estimate is £600-700 return. Plenty of airlines fly from the UK, including British Airways, Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, etc.

Also, I'm not sure about how much it is to fly into Kansai Airport (the airport closest to Kyoto), or even if airlines fly there from the UK, but you aren't going to be saving much time flying directly to Kansai, than going via Tokyo because it still takes about 2 hours to get from Kansai Airport to Kyoto by train anyway.

  5. From the U.S it you have to take 3 or 4 flights  it costs $1200 American dollars. I think. In the U.S you go on American airline I think. There might be on in the U.K.

  6. Air France goes to Osaka, which is close to Kyoto, but you need to stop at the airport in Paris...

    It is about 600 ponds...

Also you can fly from London to Narita directly by Japan Air Line or Virgin Atlantic. It costs about 800 ponds.
