  1. The only frigates with a possibility of an answer are the the original three-masted, square-rigged, ships of the line, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frigates  The only fuel required was for lanterns, stoves and the crew so it would be easy to calculate given the crew on board, time of year and intended duration of the cruise.  

    Once they started to become powered, initially by steam, it would be difficult to calculate.   Currently there are perhaps 50 different versions so you would have to specify the one of interest to pursue the question.


  2. depends on the residual amount of fuel in the tank(s), where you buy your diesel from, and is it full of seamen [sic] already!

  3. Depends on what class of frigate. And how many tonnes of fuel said class carries. Then you work out at 1000 litres per tonne at what ever the cost of diesel is where you are..

    So if diesel cost $1.56 per litre you would be looking in the region  of $1560 per tonne of fuel

  4. 4 cows and 2 chickens...bigger frigates may require a couple of pigs too.
