at my store we sell money orders for one extra dollar.  i dont think there is any charge to cash a money order, just to buy one.  Banks maybe sell them for a couple bucks

If it is a USPS money order you can cash it at the post office for free. If it isn't you can cash it at any bank where you have an account, and they will do it for free. But if it is counterfeit, they will take money out of your account.

If you don't have a bank account, open one or they will charge you a fee.

It shouldn't cost anything to cash a money order. If it is a postal money order, you can take it to the post office. You can also take it to your bank. The easiest thing to do is to simply deposit it in your bank account.
