  1. In addition to the fees mentioned above - You will have to pay to run the fiber optic line from the nearest exchange to your house. Then you will need the hardware to convert fiber to Ethernet

  2. T1's cost about $500/month, plus installation. That's for a 5-year contract. :-)

  3. T1 line is VERY expensive, and contrary to popular belief, are not really faster than residential internet connections.

    a typical t1 line is 1.5mb up and down.  Most resi connections are 3mb or more down, and 512kb up.  Since you do WAY more downloading than uploading, a t1 would actually slow you down.  The only thing a t1 is good for is if you are running a server that sends a lot of data out.
