How much does it cost to get a bare metal re-spray?

I'm after a mk1 escort, and im trying to see if it works out best to get one in great condition or on in not so good condition ad get it restored. I can do most the work myself but not the re-spray, so was just woundering at the cost of this?

If you do all the prep work (stripping, filling, windows out etc) around £500 depending on color.

The big money is in the prep work sanding, filling, body repairs, priming, etc.

If you can do this yourself & then get the stripped & prepared shell to a sprayer, then I'd say £600 - £800 for a first class job.

on the assumption you have done all the repairs ie the car is know in primier and ready to paint it will cost around 800 pounds depending on the colour
