about $50-70 bucks in my opinion... hope you check and tune and replace things that might keep it from passing BEFORE you get to the SMOG shop... "NORMAL on time Maintenance

Shop around, there are all kind of coupon on the local newspaper and local advertisment.  Where in Central CA?  If you need help finding one at a good price let me know, I know a guy in Fresno that will smog for you around $34 with certificate, if you pass. The shop is call Smog Doctor.

I agree with the others.  You can get it for $30 or so.  But do have the other stuff checked out before going.  Look for the coupons in free newspapers, others, and look for ads right on the building.  They often advertise the price.
