  1. the gasket is like 65 bucks around. then the labor is around 500 to a 1000. You should do it your self it not that hard

  2. That's one of those jobs where the cost is almost all labor.  You could contact your local consumer protection agencies (BBB, etc) and find out which garages are in good standing.

And contrary to what others have said, doing a head gasket on an overhead cam engine is NOT that easy.  It's a lot of work.  You have to move or remove a lot of other parts just to get at the part you want to replace.  It's not a job you should try to "cut your teeth" on.

  3. $1500.00 parts and labor.

  4. The gaskets are around $150/$160 depending where you want to shop. More than likely, probably cheaper ones around. Sounds like you need a mechanically inclined person in your life. Anyway, blah, blah, it's a shame the bad rap good and honest mechanics have got because of shyster mechs. There still are some stand-ups out there. Knowing somebody /somebody that knows somebody always helps. This is said with a whisper in your ear, stay away from dealerships and guys that don't work on commission. Just like the DR., it always pays to get a second opinion.

  5. once its blown its gone u gotta get a new one

and i unforunatally dont know :(

  6. call around your local part stores theyre usually not all that expensive unless your takin it to a shop
