  1. Depends. Single vision? Bifocals? Progressive? Carbonate? Transitions?

  2. Sounds like you are looking for Single Vision (distance). Depends on your RX. Some basics are plastic, polycarbonate, or hi-index (what some places call featherweights). The thinner and flatter the lens the more expensive. You should try a Sam's Club or Wal-Mart. Cheapest. Possibly varies from state to state. Here is an idea of my area:

    Plastic: $30

    Poly: $74

Hi-Index (esp good for any RX over +/-3.50): $118

Using your own frame: Add $20 pattern fee

Both poly and hi -index here include UV, scratch resistance, non-glare.

    Hope this helps!

  3. Basic single vision $100.00...

  4. It really depends on the prescription and whether you have vision insurance or not.  Also, some places won't use your old frame if they think that it's too old to take a change in prescription.
