  1. id reccomend going down to your local police station and ask a burglar, there pretty good realy, would get the job done in seconds and wouldnt cost you a penny!

  2. unless the door is uPVC....

depends on the type of lock, anywhere from £5.00 to £50 if you do it yourself, or possibly up to £200 if you get someone in to do it.

you don't mention what type of lock it is

a yale lock costs less than £5 for standard, and more secure versions around 10..15

    a 4/5 lever lock around £15..20

a BSI 5 lever lock can cost upwards of 30..50

however all is not lost, if its a lever lock consider changing the levers in the lock.. requitres you to take the lock to a locksmith.. usually costs  less than £5 plus the cost of any keys. the downside is that the lock is physically at the locksmiths so the door is wide open.

you don't need any fancy tools to replace a lock unless you buy a different sized lock to the existing one.

If the door is a uPVC unit then there can be problems as these use locks that are not freely available in the DIY sheds

  3. Car door or house door?

This is the cars & transportation section.
