It broke down RIGHT down the street, but it can't sit in the lot it is in much longer.

How much would the estimated cost of having it towed be less than a mile? I'm not sure if they have like a base charge, or whatever.

Any info would be great!

  1. push the car 3 blocks its free. A tow truck where I live is 80 for the tow and 3 every mile. so just push the car.

  2. Call around to different towing companies and go with the one that gives you the best answer.

  3. Its at least fifty bucks just to hitch it up to the truck. Unless you have free roadside assistance with you cell plan, then you are SOL.

  4. 3 blocks...? get ur mates to push? (just an idea)

  5. It's usually around $40 under so many miles and considering it's 3 blocks away I'm sure it's very close

  6. Usually 75 bucks

If you live in Corpus Christi Texas

    I will do it.

Work for a dealer, would be glad to help

    GOOD LUCK

  7. 2 people can push a car 3 blocks by hand in about 10 minutes.

    Cowboy up!

  8. had to have mine towed last week and they charge $55 for coming out and $3.65 per mile.

  9. Time you joined the auto club. Most tows, are from $75 to $100 and the yearly cost of the AAA, is about half that, plus all the other features the club can give you.

If you run out of gas, they can help you out, if you get a flat tire they can change it, or a dead battery.

Check it out, it could be a god send for you.

  10. Just put it in neutral and start pushing.  Get a friend to help you!

  11. Have any friends that can help push it? that would be the reasonable thing to do.

If you call a tow truck they will have a base charge just to come out around 50 bucks, and then charge per mile.

I would say somewhere between 50 and 80 dollars depending on who you call.

  12. Wouldn't it be better to just call a local towing company and ask?

I mean really, when you think about it, anyone here can tell you whatever price they want to make up since none of them are in any danger of having to provide this service to you.  The only thing that matters is how much the person who actually tows your car is going to charge and that requires a phone call.

  13. I pushed my husbands car home one time from like 2 miles down the road.lmao it was funny. ( oh by the way I pushed it with my 96 jetta his is a 91 honda)

    We did it at night.

Just push it when theres not trafic at night.lol

It will be one of the moments youll never forget.lol

  14. Depends on where you are.  Prices vary.  Anyway it will cost more than what you'll think.  It always does.  You should just push it!!!!
