How much does it cost to have bindings put on skis?

My fiance won an awesome pair of skis last winter, but he hasn't gotten bindings on them yet. I'd love to surprise him for Christmas and have it done for him. How much is a good set of bindings? How about the cost to have them put on?

  1. If the skis have a flex rail already you'll have to purchase the specific brand of binding and it'll only cost about $20 to have them installed.

If the skis have a flat top your choices are almost unlimited and a good binding will run about $200 with installation costing another $40 but that'll also cover a quick tune(wax and edge). Most shops have a two day turnaround on installation so don't wait until the 23rd to have this done.

Bring the skis with you when you go to pick them out...you don't want to find out that those expensive bindings you just bought are too narrow for his "fat" powder sticks

btw. I'm especially partial to the tyrolia brand of bindings...even when I was a kid sponsored by fischer/marker I still raced on tyrolia's...my legs remaining intact is really important to me

I checked with the tech shop at my hill tonight

    $20-mount

    $25-remount

  2. I will probably cost between $150 and $200

Good bindings cost around $150, mounting them will cost another $40 or $50

  3. I just paid $56 which I think is high. Call around to a few shops and you can find out the best price.

  4. Usually, it's free when you buy the skis and bindings.

Check and see if you can have them put on for free when you buy the bindings.

    Otherwise, budget for $45
