I was curious because we are trying to buy a townhouse but they do not have washer and dryer connections. Who do you call to have the connections installed and how much does the process cost?

  1. Well, first you will need a plumber, to install waste, vent and cold and hot water, for the washer.  Then you will need gas, and a vent for the dryer.  Both appliances will need electricity, so you need an electrician.  Then you will need a sheet rocker, to close up the walls.  All of the workers will need permits to perform the work legally, in order for inspections to be made, to ensure proper installation, according to code.  Then you could paint it yourself, to save a little money.  I would guess about $2000-$5000, depending on where the room is, and how the pipes are going to go.  If this is on the ground floor, and concrete needs to be broken, to put the pipes in the ground, figure even more money for concrete removal, and replacement.  If it was me, I would look for another townhouse, with connections already there. Good luck!
