How much does it cost to hire movers?

I am moving about 10 minutes across town into another apartment. I will pack all the small things myself but am unable to lift the heavier things like sofa and mattresses and things like that. I live in North Dakota if that makes a difference.

movers dont realy care about your stuff

ask some strong friends or family members

If it helps, I moved about 150 miles south.  I packed everything myself and had it ready for the movers to load when they arrived.  It cost me close to $1500.00.  So, it should cost you less than half the price.  If you have friends to help you move and you are able to rent a truck such as U-Haul then you should be able to move for even less perhaps less than $100.00.
