How much does it cost to microchip a cat?

My mom almost lost my cat about thirty minutes ago. I come home and she has him outside and he jumped out of her hands. He ran to the building door the into the bushes. I told her not to take him out but she doesn't listen. Now, I'm interested in microchipping him. I looked on the home again website and put in my zip code and my vet does have them. I plan on calling my vet in the morning and making an appointment to have it done. I was just wondering how much it woulld cost! Thanks for all your help!

The Home Again chip cost $20 at my vets office.

it should cost the same everywhere else, but it also helps to call around

humane societies microchipping for cats cost $50. Or in my case $49.99, but hey, same thing, right?

The chip costs around $50 to inject and there may be a small additional fee to register the chip.

We charge $50.50 for Avid and then for the one that can be scanned in Europe is about $70. They are registered to our clinic unless you change it to your name and phone #.
