Question:

How much does it cost to remove your wisdom teeth?

I've got one that's partially exposed, pointing in generally the right direction, and one other one on the lower jaw that's not exposed at all. This troublesome one is horizontal (at 90 degree angle) with the root pointing towards my right cheek (yes its the lower jaw right side). I've been told this one is complicated to remove as it's next to bone and nerves. Dentist visits are expensive as it is and I've been referred to an oral surgeon. I have medibank extras cover, but if I was to pay the whole thing out of pocket, how much would I expect to pay for the 2 teeth out? Thanks.

  1. its costing my mom about 2,000 for all four teeth, so less than that for two maybe!

  2. Join the defence force they will do it for free, gumleaves....

  3. Why don't you ask a dentist.

  4. A lot more if you go to an oral surgeon - and more again if you need an anesthtic

You need an oral surgeon if you have complications - too danagerous to let a general dentist do it.

Get item numbers for a quote from the dentist then ring Medicare and find out - they will tell you on the phone.
