How much does it cost to rent a private jet in Canada?

I am just wondering for a flight from Montreal to Calgary, how much It would typically cost and if it is any cheaper than commercial flights. thank you.

a Lear 25, (typcial small private passenger jet) would run you around 20-25,000.00 for a one way flight.  

(price breakdown-  1850 sm one way ;typical rate is 3-5.00 a mile; You also pay for postioning cost, and dead legs;landing;

ramp;passenger segement fees;taxes)

This does not include any rental cars, hotels.  Also as soon as you get off the plane, its no longer yours, and the aircraft will leave.  If you want it to stay, prepare to pay up to 150.00 or more an hour to  have it wait.  If you want the a/c and crew to wait for over a few hours, plan on paying 2500.00 a day to overnight - this price includes the  per diem per day for the crew,  to pay for the crew's hotel, and the ramp fees to park the a/c for the time you plan on staying..

Start at a thousand dollars an hour and go to about seven thousand and hour depending on the jet. Why would we not all be flying on private jets if it was cheaper than commercial flights?

I dont know how far that is but if i were you i would start by looking for a flight school in Montreal so you could get in touch with them and they could put you in the right direction.  If its just you why not take a trial flight if they do it one way?
