How much does it cost to repair or totally replace a wrecked Sprint Cup car?

I'm asking because Chip Ganassi and Roger Penske must be spending thousands of dollars to fix or replace the cars that Dario Franchitti and Sam Hornish Jr wreck every week. It's becoming so common that it wouldn't seem like a typical race if these two didn't get in an accident. Patrick Carpentier can be included in this group as well.

  1. depends on how much damage, im pretty sure those cars cost about 3-400,000$ and they have a few of each car ( like three #77 cars) so the damage isnt all that big of a deal its them not being out there racing making money

if you think about it if they would just finish 7 - 10th they can win enough money to fix the car.

  2. lots of sponsor money

  3. depends on what the damage to the car is

sometimes a couple $1000 and sometimes over $75000

but it all depends on the damage

  4. What ever it cost. They can affored it

  5. I dont no but it cost over a million dollars to build one from the ground up so its definitely a couple of hundred thousand dollars to fix one.

  6. i heard some where that is was around $150, 000 for just a car.. then more for all the fine tuning that goes into it.

  7. Figure to build a brand new car roughly 70-80 thousand and the motors (if they are trashed as well) are 35-40 thousand to build new. Rough figures but probobly fairly close.
