How much does it cost to replace a window on an old house?

When I had mine done 3 years age it cost $150 a window plus capping.

The price will vary depending on the size of the window opening. If you have to have one custom made to fit the opening, it will cost more than buying a standard size off the shelf.

To give you a ball park figure, I just replaced a set of wooden sliding windows 32 inches wide, 52 inches high, cost $160 each at Lowes to have the windows made to fit the openings.

As others have said cost will depend on size of window. Also figure  in single or double hung window  insulated  or not glass. tinted or not.  wood  vinyl  or aluminum  frame.  On  our project house  we just replaced 31x61 window .. . vinyl  single hung  none insulated nor tinted.  ..installed. $200. each
