I don't have dental insurance and I want to know how much it costs to replace silver filling with composite filling for 1 tooth. I live in Miami, Florida.

Also, I haven't been to the dentist for about 10 years since I was a kid...so what does the dentist do upon the first visit and does that cost? If so, how much?

  1. First of all,  please be aware that most insurances will not cover removing a good silver filling for a white one.   If something is wrong with the silver filling,  then most insurances will pay for the portion equal to what a silver filling costs,  and the patient must pay for the extra money it takes to pay for a white one.

Initial exam costs vary from dentist to dentist,  and a lot of them run special deals for the first visit,  check around in your area.

  2. Hello, try this site: www.healthsavings.ourperfectcard.com I signed up online over 5 years ago now and have saved thousands. A silver filling cost around $150 and with this plan I paid only $50. I'm sure it may differ where you live. I'm in Texas. From xrays, cleanings, exams..etc. All services are included in this very affordable plan. They even had my benefits active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. Hope this helps
